Hello family.

All is going well.  Good news with M.  So we were taking about eternal families and the after life this week.  Just talked about being together with people after death.  And maybe with Pablo gone now she has thought about it more now, but M. said now she would like to get married!!!!!  So that is really exciting.  Now we just need P. back.  So that is really good news.  They are such a cool family.  Both kids want to go on missions, and now they could be sealed.

We meet with J. again.  He is a good brother.  He is form Mozambique.  We meet with the africans off and on.  But they are good people.  He didn't have to much time so we read 3 Nefi 11 and just talked about christ, and the book of mormon and baptism.  We invited him to be baptized, and he said (like everyone)  I've already been baptized, we we talked about the importance of the restoration and he asked but how can i know which church is true (well thats the million dollar question).  So he seems like he could progress well.  Well just keep working with him.

Had a really cool lady pass by the church.  So we were there at the church right before english class started, and this lady pops by and asks who we are.  So we started talking with her.  Hey name is C. and she is from Romania.  She said she has been looking for a church, but hasn't really liked any of the churches she has found here.  She is really interesting in learning more.  Seems like lots of the really good investigators just find you somehow.  W. are really excited to teach her this week.

This member has this friend that was moving this past week, so we went to help her move.  And she seemed really nice.  She has an adorable three year old daughter.  But we helped her for a bit, then talked with her about the church and so if we could visit her.  She was interested and we are going to meet tomorrow.  Just like Ammon first serve the people, then teach them.

Another cool person we found through english class.  This lady say the sign on the church and wanted to learn english, but could never come on the set day.  (We ran into her on the street)  So we taught her english one day, then about the restoration a bit, and she was interested.  She said she would come to church, but sadly never came.  We haven't called her yet, but we are going to meet tomorrow with her.

So an american has moved into the branch.  We are growing in power!  We are now three.  He is a foreign exchanged student.  He doesn't know to much Spanish yet though.  His name is Jason as well.

Things are going well though.  We found some good people last week, and want to do better this week.

Well you also said devon and Michael seemed different at first.  Its probably the same with cody.  Paige is a funny girl.  and really nice.  I remember Kyle and i made cookies for her once, and we made a mess in the kitchen, but the cookies turned out well.

Thats weird your phone isn't working.  Its brand new right?  Well at least its still covered.  That helps.  Do you like it more than the other iPhone?  Does it bend?  We heard it does, well we heard that a long time ago, maybe they were thinking of doing it.  I don’t know.  Missionary work would be a ton different with a phone as well.  Strange how when things change, we cant think of going back.

Well that'll be fun in St. George with the Smiths.  They are a fun family.  Hopefully devon will be able to do some things.  Well i guess he will at least be able to go to the movies or something.  I don’t know about golf or hiking.  Can he go in the hot tube?  I normally don’t have any trouble sleeping.  Some nights yeah but normally no.

Its exciting we are finally going.  I thought i might never go in the end.  And its good we are going with the less active.  We also went to the mall with him today.  I bought a coat.  So i don’t know whose present will be from but i used some of the money.

Thats odd cody is back.  Good news my comp and are are running sometimes during the week.  As we have nothing in the apartment for exercises we have a soccer ball and play around with that outside, or  we go for a run.  So hopefully I’ll be in shape by the lake to lake relay.  Who is going to do that in the end?

Well i definitely have grown more in soccer since I've been here, but i think when i get home ill still enjoy american football more.  But ill say this now the madrid stadium will be a lot louder than Lavell Edwards stadium.  Weird thing, we cant where our name tags to the game.  I guess that way there aren't any problems.

Well have a wonderful week.

Hello Family

Well with the holidays and everything its been kind of hard to meet with people this week, but all is well.

Well Pablo left to London.  It was sad saying goodbye to him.  And he was pretty sad as well.  He is a really good guy.  He has a good spirit, easy to talk to, can joke around with him.  Hopefully all will go well in London.  And we also had a really good lesson with them after he left.  So M. isn't baptized either, and we talked about God’s and his love for us and how we need faith to move forward.  Talked about how we aren't going to understand everything, but we just need to move foreword.  He wont leave us completely in darkness, he will always give us some light and we need to move forward with that light.  Then M. said she really likes the church, and really likes what it has done for her kids.  She has seen a big change in them.  Then she said one day she would also like to become part of the church.  So that was really good.  They just need to get married then they would both be baptized, and then later they could be sealed.  That would be really exciting.

There is this less active here named M.  He is a really cool guy.  We've been visiting with him for the past two months or so.  He hasn't come to church but he still has a testimony.  We listened to this talk by the presiding bishop I think it was said that less active are one of the best resources we have in missionary work.  So his novia isn't a member.  I don’t think missionaries have ever talked with her, but she is really nice to us whenever we see her.  So it was Saturday and they invited us over to eat but sadly we were with someone else, so that was a bummer.  Hopefully this week we will meet with them.  Kind of funny they actually live in our same building.  Another side note so we are finally going to a soccer game (took long enough to finally get tickets) and M. is going with us as well.  We are going to Real madrid against Athletico madrid on the 15th.  So that'll be fun.

I don’t know if you remember who Ingrid is but I'm kind of confused.  She hasn't answered the phone for quite a long time, but in the branch we have a family home evening every Saturday night in the church, and she has been coming to those.  So well just wait for a bit, and let her do her own thing, but at least we have contact with her.

So we were in our flat, studying then suddenly all of the lightbulbs blew out.  And it was new years day so lots of the stores were closed.  Well basically all of them.  So we were walking contacting and looking for some store to buy lightbulbs in and we just about gave up, and there was one store with candles, so we almost bought a bunch on candles, but then luckily we found one store with light bulbs.  so we were not in the dark.

Well was really cool going to the concert.  Pablo and his family came to it.  Well you cant keep the decorations up all year long.  Thats one better thing about here, they stay up through three kings day, which is tomorrow.

Bruno is a cute dog, and a really good dog.  I don’t know why anyone would say a cat is better.  That’s good for bruno though, means he thinks we are his family.  (which we are)  My comp now has a dog and really likes her.  She is half beagle half jack russle terrier.

Seems like the New Years party was fun.  So i guess Michael just talks to his girlfriend in Spanish, what does JJ talk to her in?  It'll be cool to talk to her in Spanish when I get home.  Might be kind of funny, some common words here are swear words there.  Like coger it just to pick up or get here, but there its quite a bad word.  It'll be fun to talk to her though, and aunt Ana.

HURRAY!!  no more splinters.  That was a long project, but thats good its finally over with.

Well cody doesn't look too different from two years ago.  Doesn't look darker either. haha.  I guess even with the filipino sun he couldn’t get much of a tan.  I would imagine he would have to go without some daily things in life in the Philippines.  What did he do in night time for light in his flat?  candles, or flashlight i guess.

Thats cool Michael is dating a Mexican.  That'll be cool to talk to her afterward.  Some common words here I've heard are bad swear words there.  I don’t know about in Puerto Rico.  But coger here for example is just like to get or pick up.  But at least in south america its quite a bad word.  BUt it'll be cool if there still together to be able to talk to her.

Seems like everyone is injuring them selves as of late.  Cody is starting at BYU now as well right?  Thats pretty quick after coming home to start school.  Probably good though, sure you'd go crazy with having nothing to do for a while.

Well thats good devon is felling better.  And really good for you as well.  No shoulder surgery.  Don’t know who I would play golf with when I got back if you got surgery.  And if Devon still can’t.

We finally got tickets to a soccer game.  We are going on the 15. Its real madrid against Athletico madrid.  But you could say we are quite high up.  But it'll be fun.  Someone told us they have heating in the stadium.  That must be a big bill to heat that up every game.  And no, it’s not an indoor stadium.

They are some hopefuls for a family that we have.  It'd be really cool to find one and baptize them.  A long time ago in my first area we found a filipino family, sadly they left to the filipinos, and by the time they came back I had been transferred, but they were all baptized in the end.  That was cool.  But it'd be cool to be there for a family baptism.  We are working to find one.

From what you said seem like lots of the missionaries are coming home soon.  Thats one of the most important truths someone can know, the nature of god.  It says that in PMG about the restoration, one of the things you need to make sure they understand.

Love you, thanks for all your support. Have a lovely week

Hello Family.

Well one thing i didn't tell you David Archuletta came here and had a singing devotional.  So they gave us 4 invitations to bring some investigators of members or whomever.  So that was really cool.

We had a branch christmas party the other week (kind of hectic they said it would start at 7 but it started more around 8:30, so we didn't stay too long)  but anyhow some members brought some friends, and one was a family with one kid and another on the way, and we are going to meet with them tonight, so we are exciting for them.

JP is doing well.  Another member moved into the small town he lives in so she is helping him with transportation to the church.  So he came this Sunday.  We had a good lesson on the atonement, and he says he likes everything, but seem like he is still afraid of commitment.  But he is progressing still.

Well P. is going to London tomorrow.  That is really sad.  He will be back in February but only for like a week, then he will go back, he has a doctors appointment and thats why he's coming back.

Well we didn't really have a really special Christmas program, which I thought was weird.  And on easter i didn't have a special program either.  Here Christmas eve is the big day.  Christmas day is pretty calm. People stay up quite late.  Some people in the branch stayed up until 8 in the morning then went to bed.

The package did come.  It was actually quite funny, I told my comp my mom sent peanut butter (I cant remember exactly what we were talking about) then ring, at the doorbell and it was my package.  Like literally one second after I said that.

Well I'm sure devon must be going insane.  Thats good JJ and Michael will be over all of the time though.  When does Cody get home?  Within a few days right?  That seems weird.  Well at least now days there is Netflix and Hulu and everything.  Where are you going to put the outdoor projector?  So is the new one going outside or the old one going outside?  Are you going to buy a portable screen then?

Well seems like Dad gets a lot of good gigs from working at Vivant.  How much electricity do the solar panels use? Well that'll be good you can lock the door remotely.  Well I guess it wont be useful if you leave the door wide open like we did in St. George that one time.  haha.

Well hope you have a wonderful week.

Hello family

Everything is going really well here.  We have meet with Paul a few times and he really understands things well.  We went over the plan of salvation and at the beginning he was going to tell us some of his doubts, but he said no, you cant answer them.  So we preceded talking about God’s plan.  And we got to adversities in our life.  And talking about the garden of eden, how we need opposition in all things.  And that opposition can come from other people.  And it just clicked for him.

We got a new chapel here in Aranjuez.  Its still just a rented space but its so much bigger than the last one.  The last one was tiny.  We really didn't fit anymore.  The last one had 4 tiny rooms, no kitchen and a tiny sacrament room.  And that was it.  This one is a lot bigger.

JP is doing well.  We talked about fasting and he accepted to try and fast this week.  He didn't come to church (we gave him a suit that was left in the apartment and he is waiting until his mom fixes it this week)  Good news though, so Mel is going to come back here during Christmas so she will be a good friend for him here.  She already was trying before she left to London.  And It'll be a good connection again to her step mom L.

I think just cooking in a missionary flat is cursed.  We normally we eat quite a lot with the members, so we really don't go to the store to buy groceries, but this week we didn't eat too much with them.  So we tried making waffles.  And they turned more into toasted tortilla chips.  They stuck to the iron, and ripped in half, and then we were down to the only thing we had was rice and beans in our pantry.   But they turned out all right.  Good thing to learn I guess.  Rice and beans.

We finally have heat in our flat as well.  We were freezing and were trying to figure out the heat.  Couldn't figure it out.  We looked at the hot water heater, and it was on the sun, which should mean heat.  And there is also a snow flake, but we never flipped it, because that would mean cooling you’d think.  So we called the owner of the flat and all that he did was flip the switch to the snow flake, so now we have heat.  So that is good.

We were walking down the street one day, and some guy called us over and asked if we spoke german.  No, but english yes.  So what he wanted was he was trying to buy a car from Germany, but he didn't speak german nor Spanish, and the german didn't speak Spanish, but english more or less.  So we talked to the dude, set it all up so he could go buy the car from him.  And I was thinking to see if we could teach him some day, but didn't, then he went his way and we went ours.  Then a few days later we were walking, and I saw two mannequins and what I thought at first to be another mannequin, but then it started waving to us, then I though hey that looks like the car dude, so we started talking to him again, and this time we weren't about to let him get away twice after got put him in our path, so we started talking about the gospel, and he was interested, so he gave us his number and he wants to learn more.

I wont be email next Monday, so don’t freak out if i don’t send anything.  Christmas will be pday, like last year.  And i’ll email from Skype around 430 to 5 here time.   Hope that works out there.

Sometimes people go to one more place for one transfer, but no as well.  I really hope i don’t though.  I wouldn't want to go to one other area for one transfer.   I get along really well with Elder Mower.  We are good friends, and we work well.  So its really good.  Yes we got a new chapel,  its really good.  Its still just a bajo, not a stand alone chapel, just a rented thing, but its really good.  Our last chapel was really small, one of the smaller ones I've seen here.

Thats a good goal jj has.  That’ funny they went over there to get help, then you just started talking.  JJ and Kyle are funny.  Seems like Kyle met a lot of Brazilians while he was there.  And then you stayed up still three talking.  They are fun.  I remember sometimes we would do that then jj and i would go buy ben a jerry´s and eat it at the temple parking lot.  So which car sounded the best in the end?

yeah, crutches are no fun.  When i had them i got tired trying to go far and just walking pace.

Id say thats a good deal for the cars.  Could drive around an aston martin.  That'd be fun.  How much are they.

We do not have a christmas tree.  so that will be good.  I still have the stocking though.  It is taped to the wall.  Just during our free time, if we eat with someone close to the church we still have a few minutes till we go out, so i learned it more or less.

I feel fine.  Never really gotten to sick.  Well once i did.  Only small things.  Its so bad when your comp gets sick though.  I go crazy in the apartment when it happens.  no fun.

Well it seems like the off sports of byu always do better.  The ones no one cares about.  Well at least its something.  When all the lone peak players get to byu maybe they will be good.

Well thats good 3 over after 6 with those conditions.  The ball never goes as far in the cold.  And its just harder to play.  I guess well see how good Kevin game is when I'm back.  Well have to have a match.

We've been sharing the same message with every one.  Juan 3 16.  And the He Is the Gift video.  It’s really good.  We have cards and are handing them out to every one.  We want to hand them all out before Christmas.

My comp is from crossroads Texas.  I think its by Dallas.  He's been out about a year.  We get along really well though.  And we work well so its really good.  Well everything should be all right with the packages.  As long as there is no tariff like last time.

I’m really grateful to be here for Christmas as well.  Its awesome being a missionary during Christmas.  And watching the video just makes me appreciate Christ more, and why we have Christmas, and what better way to celebrate it than by helping other receive this gift.

ill be calling arounds 430 to 5 here time.  so i think 830 9 there time.

We'll love you all.  have a lovely week.

December 8, 2014I'm
Hello family

Well good news, I'm staying.  I was pretty nervous right before transfers came out.  And I have a new companion, he is from Texas.

Everything is good here.  We had a really good lesson with P. about the atonement this past week.  Just how we always have hope of a better world through Christ.

We had stake conference this past week.  So we went to madrid.  We went with people from the branch and I saw Nena there, so that was exciting. She is doing well.

Well something from two weeks ago, so in some free time I've been learning silent night on the piano, so our pianist was gone that week, so played it in church.  Only that hymn and only the right hand.  I think it turned out fine though.

JP is doing well though.  He accepts everything.  I think is he just gets a better relationship with the members he will get baptized.

I cant remember what happened last week.  We meet this young half Brazilian half argentine this past week.  So we are going to start teaching him.

We are getting a new church here.  The one we have right now is pretty small.  )ur chapel right now is empty.  Nothing inside.

We had stake conference this week.  So thats why we were at the temple.  Well its probably the photo on the bus to the temple.  We rode on the bus with members from the branch.

Well thats too bad you have to have surgery.  Does that mean you'll have a scooter?  Or will you have crutches.  You'll be able to walk by the time i get home though right?  How did you ever hurt your ankle in the first place anyhow.  I don’t really remember.  Well I guess for christmas you and devon will get some things you can do while sitting down i guess.

Thats cool Pres. Sitteruit taught the class.  He was a good president.  That'll be cool to be able to see him afterward.  My president now lives in provo, so its not to far either.  Not the same church building though.

Well I'm sure the gtr's suspension is quite a bit harder, but that now why you bought the car though.  Id rather take the gtr as well.  Well the Cadilac is still quite a quick car though.  James May said he really liked the db9 for that reason.  Aston martin.  Really quick, but still good suspension.

Well I’ll get tickets somehow.  Just have to ask someone to do it the first day they go on sale, the first moments.

Well Mexican food is good.  There isn't to much here.  We eat lots of latino food though, which is good.  I like Mexican food more though.  Well latino as in south american food.  Id say Brazilian is the best south american food.

Well I'm sure the snow will come sooner or later.

Well thats cool you have a gospel principles class.  Thats the class i attend right now, so I'm sure it seems normal for the returned missionaries.  Where was the lady baptized?

Well i am staying in Aranjuez, so no change of address.
Yeah, i remember how cold it was, and we didn't want to look at the lights just go home because it was so cold.  Must be really cold in Russia or Alaska or something during a mission, church pants all year long.  brrrr.

Well ill be skyping the 25th, no clue the time though.

Yeah, hopefully ill be able to get some soccer tickets soon.  I’ll get something sorted out.

l thats all.  I cant remember anything else and we have to go.

well love you.  hope you all have a good week

Have a wonderful week

December 1, 2014

Hello family.

So we are working pretty well with the members right now.  I think the best in my mission.  So two weeks ago we visited a member and talked with him, then challenged him to share the gospel with someone.  So on Tuesday (i actually wasn’t there, we did exchanges. I was in toledo) but he invites his friend.  And they taught her.  And they said she seemed really interested.  So were excited for that.

So we met with P.  Its been quite a while since we’ve seen him so we reviewed the restoration.  Funny story, so we said we wanted to watch the restoration with him, so he put it in and pushed play, and i said you need to change the language first, but he didn't have the remote to do so, so he just left it.  So we watched it in english.  I was the only one that really understood, but he said he did just from the pictures.  Anyhow afterwards we were just talking, and he believes in God. So we kind of talked about the plan of salvation as well, and how one day we can rest from all of our affliction.  He said he has a lot of doubts, and is going to write them down, and if we can answer them he said he would never sin again.  And he wants us to pass by again.  So we are on Wednesday.

So I. (the wife of a less active member)  we passed by during the week but she was sleeping.  But on Sunday she came to church.  So thats exciting.  Her mother and brother in law are both active, the husband isn't because he works on Sunday.

We had a nice Thanksgiving.   WE had a turkey and stuffing, and then talked about being grateful. They had obviously never had a Thanksgiving, but they really liked it.  Maybe they'll do it again next year, guess well make Thanksgiving a big thing in Spain one day.  haha.   We did it with P. and his family.  Speaking of which on Sunday they named haydee as the second councilor of the young women.  Thats exciting.

I guess i just have bad luck trying to get soccer tickets.  This is the third time and they are sold out again.  People said for sure this game would have some.  Maybe you'll just have to get some the first day they go on sale some time.

We did stuff the turkey.  Now i dont mid touching dirty dishes, or meat.  Ive just forgotten about that now.  But now that you mention that i remember that before i didn't like to.  We made a pumpkin pie for dessert.  Desserts here are defiantly lighter than they are in the States.  Lots more creamy or bready things.  And salad dressing as well, there isn't really.  Lemon juice and olive oil, and vinegar and salt.  And thats all.  But its really good always.

You didn't have turkey???  i guess you are revolting.  Turkey is never that great anyhow.  But no bread pudding.  That is something thats good though.  I guess dad always says we always have to much food.  But there are always leftovers that are good.

Travis was at the turkey bowl thing.  He is in madrid.  I see him every so often now that we are both in madrid or nearby.  I wonder if we will sit next to each other on the plane again.

Thats good you'll have a tree in St. George now.  Christmas decorations are nice.  People are putting up their trees up here as well, but sadly none of them are real.  Real trees are better.

Thats surprising tanya decided to golf.  Maybe one day she will learn to like it.  Well I'm sure Devon regretted making the last hole worth nine points.   Would you say Kevin is better than devon right now?  Well thats not good your shoulder is hurting.  Hopefully it'll get better soon.

Well everyone said for sure there will be tickets for the game Saturday.  So we went today to the stadium and they are sold out.  And they only went on sale 3 days ago.  Real madrid has won the last 16 games in a row or something like that i heard, so i guess everyone wants to go right now.  So maybe you'll have to try to get the tickets one day.

I dont know for christmas.  Whatever i guess.  Well hopefully it wont get stuck in paris again for a while.  At least in the end we were able to get it back.

Thats to bad devon has to have surgery.

Well I know more things happened but i cant think of anything, and we have to run.

Well i dont know what for christmas.  Whatever.  If i think of something ill tell you.

Love you
