Hello Everybody.
Things are going really well.
We’ve been trying to work with the members these past few weeks and its been going pretty well. Lots of people have someone they want to invite over some time. This Thursday we have a lesson with someone and a member, and we are teaching lots of family members of members.
So L. (i think is her name, and dont even try to ask me for her last name, So apparently Russians don’t eat to many warm things, which is weird, you think they would as it is so cold there, but they don’t. Lots of salads. She invited us to eat and Russian food, it’s good. Stuffed peppers. But we only met with her Tuesday (Mels last day here before she left to London) as she went out of town with her daughter because it was her birthday. But she is really willing to listen to us.
So as a district we set a goal to find a new family to teach and have a baptismal date with them before the end of the transfer. So we are all working towards that in every way possible. So we have a contact of a family and are going to meet with them Tuesday, but also we met with a part member family, he is less active and she isn't a member. The less active members´s brother gave her a book of mormon with a dedication and she read a chapter he gave her. And we had a really good lesson with her. She really understood everything.
So A. has been an investigator for quite some time, and normally comes to church. And we’ve been visiting with him. So this week re-passed the plan of salvation with him, and why its important what we do in this life. and just talking with him about his desires in life, and what he wants to do. And we just testified about how important this life is, and how we need to be baptized like christ was, and by the end of the lesson he accepted a date for December 5th, and he is now really excited about it. And has invited lots of the members to come already.
JP is doing well. He read this week so that is good. And he came to church as well. We just talked about faith and how important is it.
One thing I've learned is just how important faith it. I know we always say it, but without faith we have noting. Many times we think because of others agency we can only invite, but i was reading in Ether 12 and moroni says because of the FAITH of Nephi and Lehi they converted many lamonites. Because they believed they could do it, they did do it.
P. and his family are doing well. Haydee and Michael always come to church, so thats good. The parents do once in a while. And haydee wants to go on a mission now. She is asking lots of question of how you prepare, and whats it like. Its really exciting. That would be really cool if she went on a mission. And Michael does as well. He just has to wait. Haydee wants to finish this school
Seems like everyone was gone this week. That’s nice Erin came up to visit grandma. She is a really nice person. She’s like extended family. Seems like grandma has had quite a few surgeries lately. Didn't she have her hip replaced as well? I cant remember.
Whats the top speed of the gtr? And the 0-60 time? I remember when we went to St. George with Kyle and went car testing and drove in the gtr. It was like a roller coaster.
Thats pretty funny the video of Michael. Pretty typical Michael reaction there.
I dont know whats happening with MJ and C. I’ll find out this week though, we have a combined zone meeting and the missionaries in Alcorcon will be there.
I did get the package. Thank you. I brought the hot sauce to district meeting and everyone thought it was really really hot. It didn't seem as hot as when we were twelve though. Probably because we were younger.
I’m really glad we recorded everything from the setting apart. I dont know why everyone doesn't do it to remember that special moment.
one more thing, in chapter 38 on principles of the gospel there is a section about preparing for marriage, and a quote by Spencer W. Kimball. You should read it. I remember in the relief society there someone said you don’t have to pray about who you are going to marry. But here straight up a prophet says you should pray and fast about who you are going to marry.
Well have a wonderful week.
Love Elder Kinghorn
