hello family.
well this week has been a bit more down. lots of lessons fell through and we were getting nothing from contacting from the street. so we had district conference and it was all about member missionary work, so we decided if we had free time we would go and visit members. still also contact on the street but try to visit more members. so yesterday we visited a member and shared a short message about missionary work. when jesus says feed my sheep. and the lady gave us a reference for us to teach. and it was also good we went over because she wasn’t feeling the best, and she has a driving exam tomorrow so we gave her a blessing. then we visited another member who lives on the same building and shared a short message. and they both want to invite frieds over and we can do a noche de hoger. so we set up to come back over friday afternoon. so we are going to try to work lots more with the members. then we visited the district presidents family. they are a way cool family. whenever we share something with them, they teach us so much more. you can really feel the spirit and the love their family has in their piso. but they told us to go visit a less active who is from america. so we are super excited to continue working with the members. so for the ward noche de hogar someone shared a though about prayer, then it turned into a testimony meeting. and the spirit was super strong. i really felt that we were just one big family. even though everyone is from different countries, and some of us aren’t fluent in spanish, we are all united in the gospel. it was a super strong spirit.
district conference was yesterday. it was really good. i sang. so that was exciting. well i broke the light bulb to our study room. this was last monday. so i nor my companion had enough money, so we were ravaging through the piso looking for money, and change. and came up with 3 something. so we called the other elders, they had nothing. so we called the hermanas and the luckily had ten euros. so we bought a light bulb finally.
well i am staying in a hotel tonight. so that is exciting. we have zone meeting tomorrow and pres decided that we should all have a pday together at acoruna. so we are heading there in about an hour.
so Isabel wants to talk to you. just messages and things. sounds like the conference is pretty intense. if you are just on level one i would be like even negative 5. but i would like to learn more when i get back.
spanish is pretty similar here. although everyone also speaks Gallego, which is basically portuguese. well seems like you still arent going to bed early. as you just sent this and it is one oclock there. thats not too late though.
we just get fed spanish food. we don’t cook it to often.
the baptismal font was like some poles that make a cube, that a tarp that slips in the poles. ill send pictures next week. we meet with rebecca, and we talked. she was really talkative at first and friendly. than i said would it be alright if we share something quickly with yoy. she said alright, but her demeanor changed. then elder dougher asked her to read a scripture, she said no. so that wasn’t good. then we invited her to take the book of mormon and read it, and she said ive read lots of book about christ, and i think christianity is behind me. but maybe some other missionaries will find her some day. maybe that was all we were supposed to do.
banana republic is a quality store. i really like the ties you sent form there. as does everyone else. everyone still likes my ties. so you did a good job picking them out. thats good dad is still getting lots of new clients. he will have a freeer schedule where he is now than at vivant. so that is good.
well transfers are right before thanksgiving. and go till after christmas like a week or two. i have some christmas things bought to send, but any spanish thing you guys would like? well have fun at the dentist. if nothing else maybe you will get to watch a movie. haha.
sounds like kevin has made quite a bit of progress. thats good. i still have a fine swing though when we went the other day :) well i liked the putter i was using before. i liked it much more than the dunlop one. seemed to get a lot more to go in. tanner has a putter in his apartment so he plays around with it often. that is some bad weather in the phillipines. we get rain but nothing like that. hope everyone is ok. i heard we are having a conference in january and we will find out all what we are going to do. well hope you have a good week. and ill beat kevin when i get back.
