Hello Family
Well with the holidays and everything its been kind of hard to meet with people this week, but all is well.
Well Pablo left to London. It was sad saying goodbye to him. And he was pretty sad as well. He is a really good guy. He has a good spirit, easy to talk to, can joke around with him. Hopefully all will go well in London. And we also had a really good lesson with them after he left. So M. isn't baptized either, and we talked about God’s and his love for us and how we need faith to move forward. Talked about how we aren't going to understand everything, but we just need to move foreword. He wont leave us completely in darkness, he will always give us some light and we need to move forward with that light. Then M. said she really likes the church, and really likes what it has done for her kids. She has seen a big change in them. Then she said one day she would also like to become part of the church. So that was really good. They just need to get married then they would both be baptized, and then later they could be sealed. That would be really exciting.
There is this less active here named M. He is a really cool guy. We've been visiting with him for the past two months or so. He hasn't come to church but he still has a testimony. We listened to this talk by the presiding bishop I think it was said that less active are one of the best resources we have in missionary work. So his novia isn't a member. I don’t think missionaries have ever talked with her, but she is really nice to us whenever we see her. So it was Saturday and they invited us over to eat but sadly we were with someone else, so that was a bummer. Hopefully this week we will meet with them. Kind of funny they actually live in our same building. Another side note so we are finally going to a soccer game (took long enough to finally get tickets) and M. is going with us as well. We are going to Real madrid against Athletico madrid on the 15th. So that'll be fun.
I don’t know if you remember who Ingrid is but I'm kind of confused. She hasn't answered the phone for quite a long time, but in the branch we have a family home evening every Saturday night in the church, and she has been coming to those. So well just wait for a bit, and let her do her own thing, but at least we have contact with her.
So we were in our flat, studying then suddenly all of the lightbulbs blew out. And it was new years day so lots of the stores were closed. Well basically all of them. So we were walking contacting and looking for some store to buy lightbulbs in and we just about gave up, and there was one store with candles, so we almost bought a bunch on candles, but then luckily we found one store with light bulbs. so we were not in the dark.
Well was really cool going to the concert. Pablo and his family came to it. Well you cant keep the decorations up all year long. Thats one better thing about here, they stay up through three kings day, which is tomorrow.
Bruno is a cute dog, and a really good dog. I don’t know why anyone would say a cat is better. That’s good for bruno though, means he thinks we are his family. (which we are) My comp now has a dog and really likes her. She is half beagle half jack russle terrier.
Seems like the New Years party was fun. So i guess Michael just talks to his girlfriend in Spanish, what does JJ talk to her in? It'll be cool to talk to her in Spanish when I get home. Might be kind of funny, some common words here are swear words there. Like coger it just to pick up or get here, but there its quite a bad word. It'll be fun to talk to her though, and aunt Ana.
HURRAY!! no more splinters. That was a long project, but thats good its finally over with.
Well cody doesn't look too different from two years ago. Doesn't look darker either. haha. I guess even with the filipino sun he couldn’t get much of a tan. I would imagine he would have to go without some daily things in life in the Philippines. What did he do in night time for light in his flat? candles, or flashlight i guess.
Thats cool Michael is dating a Mexican. That'll be cool to talk to her afterward. Some common words here I've heard are bad swear words there. I don’t know about in Puerto Rico. But coger here for example is just like to get or pick up. But at least in south america its quite a bad word. BUt it'll be cool if there still together to be able to talk to her.
Seems like everyone is injuring them selves as of late. Cody is starting at BYU now as well right? Thats pretty quick after coming home to start school. Probably good though, sure you'd go crazy with having nothing to do for a while.
Well thats good devon is felling better. And really good for you as well. No shoulder surgery. Don’t know who I would play golf with when I got back if you got surgery. And if Devon still can’t.
We finally got tickets to a soccer game. We are going on the 15. Its real madrid against Athletico madrid. But you could say we are quite high up. But it'll be fun. Someone told us they have heating in the stadium. That must be a big bill to heat that up every game. And no, it’s not an indoor stadium.
They are some hopefuls for a family that we have. It'd be really cool to find one and baptize them. A long time ago in my first area we found a filipino family, sadly they left to the filipinos, and by the time they came back I had been transferred, but they were all baptized in the end. That was cool. But it'd be cool to be there for a family baptism. We are working to find one.
From what you said seem like lots of the missionaries are coming home soon. Thats one of the most important truths someone can know, the nature of god. It says that in PMG about the restoration, one of the things you need to make sure they understand.
Love you, thanks for all your support. Have a lovely week
Love Elder Kinghorn
