hello family
i love L.! she is just amazing. she called us on saturday to come over for lunch. so we had a Brazilian feast. with fajuata, super good roast chicken, potato salad and yuka or something. it was super good. and we found out she is not in alma 40. with was super cool because she had some questions about alma 40 about the spirit world and we were planning on teaching the plan of salvation. so it worked out perfectly. but she prayed that she would feel prepared for her baptism. and she will be. and she wants her family to come on this path with her so much as well. she was talking with one of her daughters during the lesson, and her husband and told them they need to do these things so they can come to heaven with her. but i love going over there so much. you can feel the love as a family there and we love them and they love us. and then sunday L. and her two daughters came to church!!!! after working all night, she asked her boss if she could leave a bit early so she could make it to church! so she brought her two daughters (sadly the husband didnt come, but he is coming along. he participates in the lessons, and it learning, he will come along). and L. loved church. you think of so many people who are like well im tired i dont want to go to church, or there is a game on, or i would rather do this. but L. didnt even sleep and she showed how important the lord was in her life and still came. she will definatly be prepared for the 29th to be baptized. and her family will follow her.
then we had a miracle last night. so we were calling a member for a lesson and couldn't get anything. we finally got one but he only could for that one time frame. we were teaching a women, so we needed a man. then later that night we decided to pass by A a dominican. and sometimes there is a men there named oscar. but not always. so we passed by and she let us in. and while we were walking up the stairs i was just praying that oscar would be there. and when we were walking to the door, the other elders called us and said Eduardo had just helped them with another lesson, and he didnt want to go home yet and was wondering if we had a lesson, and so then he came, and so we could enter. and oscar wasnt there so we needed Eduardo. and she has read a bit in the book of mormon, and wants to know more.
So A. he is a reference from some other missionaries. he is from Ghana. so we meet him last sunday. and had a good lesson. and one thing he asked when were our sunday meetings and we were like well this morning. and i was going to call him and invite him last night but i forgot. and was like well that was stupid. but oh well. so we met with him like three times last week, he also has introduced us to his friend named J, also from Ghana. and A
has read in the book and came with us to a baptism in mostoles (because we dont have a font) and he was like well ill be next. so he is super cool. its weird teaching in english though. so some weird story. mara is an old investigator. and called us over to do service. we could never get in contact with her. she said I've been sick and need help. so we were like of course. so we went over and we washed four windows. and there was nothing else. but we were still happy to do it. and we set up an appointment for this tuesday. so it was well worth it. so we are super excited for these next coming weeks. so many exciting things happening.
so random thing. last pday we decided to buy ice cream. so we did and it was freezing cold! so we ate it outside and all of our hands were about to fall off. but today is a lovely day so we are finally going to play golf!
well have a lovely week.
well have fun in Tahiti. are you going to buy black pearls? seems like weather should be a bit nicer down there. beach, and sun. cant get much better than that. brazil was lots of fun. we have had lots of fun as a family. L. has two daughters.
sounds like quite the hectic first week on the job. that is quite a big jump in solar energy growth in the past few months. so when are they thinking of going public? what exactly do you have to do to become public? Kevin and i ate at the lunch room there one time. it was good. seems like you are over quite a few things. not sure how you are doing all of that and still doing the consulting gig. do you have a lot of interaction with greg and jan over there? i remember going to Brayden’s farewell. doesnt seem too long ago. and pretty soon devon will be home. thats weird. is mom getting pretty excited about that? should be a fun trip in Tahiti. a bit nicer of weather there. sun shine and the beach. nothing much better than that.
they speak french there right? im sure there are plenty of people that speak english though. try not to gain to much weight on the ship. good food and unlimited is always good. try some strange things for me.
why am i not surprised lone peak won again. its just expected now. its obviously still a good accomplishment but just expected now. if they ever loose the whole state will be shocked. hey the masters is soon. im guessing tiger is the favorite? like always recently. last one i have to miss.
mothers day and fathers day are also different here. there are quite a few people here that just use a phone or tablet vs paper. its so much easier now just on your phone. quite the golf story. one great thing about golf. its not over till its over. and he had a 93 with a 9. it he got par thats 89. well he coming up to my pr. and with a year to get it, well unless his work schedule gets quite hectic... might have some work when i get back. but we shall see. well have a lovely week
love elder kinghorn
catch some nice waves in Tahiti!
