January 6, 2014 Transfer to Madrid

so on Monday we ate at the ward mission leaders house to saw goodbye to elder Johnson, he left for his house.  he finished his mission. kind of strange.  elder dougher and i kind of felt we were going home with him.  so anyhow at J. he had nonalcoholic beer.  smells nasty.  never try it.  dont know why but it is a big thing among south americans.  then on tuesday was new years eve, we ate with carmen, the dominican family.  then at night dougher and i couldn't sleep, so it was twelve and a ton of of fireworks started going off.  sounded like a war zone.  just random people launching them off of their own building.  dont think that would be legal in america.  and there were a lot of drunk people on the street in the morning.  so we had a super good lesson with Jorge.  it was just us and him.  and he talked so much more during the lesson.  i know the parents want to be there, but they talk a lot during the lesson and J. just zones out.  so he wants to be baptized not this Friday, but the next.  so that is super cool.  so it rained a lot this week.  so transfers came saturday and was told was going to madrid.  didnt have one fiber in my being that wanted to start packing.  so this morning some members took us out to breakfast, and came to the train station.  and they bought us some hot chocolate and i just about cried.  just thinking of how much the members care for us.  Maysa was there, and Dani, and Janet and Manuel and others.  it was hard saying goodbye to them.  but luckily i can stay in in contact with them.  ill miss everyone is Vigo.  but thats part of missionary life, the transfers.

my companion is Elder Taylor.  he just came from a Coruna so we are both new to the area.

so one cool story on the train today.  some guy started talking to me, so we talked for a while.  at first he though i was evangelist, but i said we were mormons.  so he seemed super interested.  then he asked how he could maintain contact with us.  so i wrote down his number.  but unfortunately he lives near Ourense.  but Osmeone will start teaching him.

oh the new address is
Calle Margaritas 13, 2B
Madrid 28039
Espana

so in Vigo noche bueno is a tad bit bigger, because of the world is so connected now, but in the pueblos three kings day is still bigger.   oh and i saw a parade in Vigo.  it was cool.  the streets were way crowded.
think, next year Devon will be there for christmas, then I will.  so the most lonely christmas is already over.  to the piso should be fine. so i guess if you declare more than 100 dollars, you have to pay more customs here.  that would be cool to see Lisa.  and she is also going to a few other places in the mission.  so hopefully we can. Hot tubs are always a good was to start the new year.  I would really enjoy a hot tub right now.  Maybe someday.  i do remember Amalfi.  Amalfi is cool.

there were like 6 of us at the cathedral.  we were only there for like 40 minutes max.  strange.  there are a ton a inspired people would like to meet as well.  i would like to know more about Tyndale.  He did do a ton.  Lots of people helped prepare the way for the gospel.

happy three kings day. well i have to go, i love you.  have a good week.

love elder kinghorn
