Hello Family

Well we have some really exciting news.  P. wants to be baptized now!!!!  We read alma 32 with them, from verse 27 to the end.  Where alma talks about the seed and faith.  Then afterwards we were just talking about how you don’t need a perfect knowledge to act according to your faith, how you can know its true no matter how big or small the plant is.  Which is like elder holland’s comment in conference, it doesn’t matter how much faith you have, just that quality of how you act on the faith you have.  or something like that.  But it was a good lesson.  He just realized that this is something good, and desirable, so he needs to act on it.  So if all goes well he will be baptized this Saturday.

Then more good news so Michael passed the sacrament this Sunday.  It was really cool to see him do that.  He was smiling as he passed us, an we smiled at him.  They are a good family.  You just feel their love when you are there.

So we met this guy named Paul.  He is from Mozambique.  And while we were walking up to his flat with him, one of his neighbors (whom we had never met before) said he would like a visit with us as well.  So we wrote down his number and them went in with Paul.  So we called joaquin (the other guy) and asked when we could meet.  He said Sunday morning, but thats when the meetings are, so he said he could come.  So we passed by Sunday morning and he was there and we went to church together.  He is form Mozambique as well.  He seems like a cool dude.  I only talked to him on the walk over, then he had to go right afterwards.

So M. says he has stopped smoking tobacco, but still has some problems with his girlfriend.  She was actually there for one of the lessons and she seems really nice.  Neither of them came to church though.  Because here there were parties all over the weekend.  Kind of like a Highland days kind of thing.  So they were all sleeping.  Church attendence was kind of low this week.  Mel (one young person) didn’t even sleep, but she still came to church, so that was good on her part.

Yesterday we ate with a really cool polish/spanish family.  He is form Poland and she is form Spain.  And their daughter is going on a mission to Chicago in a few months and their son just put in his papers.  Have to say, i do not have the gift of tongues for the polish language. haha.  Tried pronouncing a few words from a polish cookbook, and nothing.  haha.

Yesterday we had the second and third hour class for church.  So that was fun.  We always have the second hour class, but on Saturday night the elders quroum president called us and asked if we could do the class.  So we did.  And it turned out fine.

Spain cooks with a lot of spices, its flavorful, just not spicy.  Like Mexican food.  Just like Italy, its flavorful, but not spicy.  it was funny we randomly went to that restaurant in Chicago.  Guess we will have to have that in mind when our kids are going to open their calls.  Eat a lot of food from one country and see how it turns out.

I guess the first presidency said every apartment needs a cabin monoxide detector.  which is good.  Something so simple can prevent something so tragic.  Guess its kind of like the gospel though.  Just simple prayer, and daily scripture study can prevent something so tragic as the loss of our soul, even more important.

So when are you going to Austria?  Thats quite a good gig.  Fly to Austria for free.

Well thats good devon like Sigfrieds.  He must really like german food then.  It is good though.  How did we ever find it anyhow?  We were just randomly walking down that street one day and found it?  OH, wasn’t it for my school project to try food from a different country, so we chose that.  i think that was how.  Does devon´s german sound good?

So L. was working ATON last month.  They were only able to meet with her like twice the whole month.  She didn't even come home during the week days, and just a few hours on Saturday and Sunday.  But i think that was only for august, so they should be meeting with her more often now.

The testimony is something so beneficial about the mission.  Instead of doing things of the world, and maybe becoming inactive, you gain a testimony of so many things you believed in before.  Something thats good for the rest of your life.

Love you.  Hope you have an excellent week
