hello family.
this week has been good. so we meet Nancy like two weeks ago. like one of the first days i was here. so we meet with her Friday and it was a super good lesson. so she could come to church because, well i dont remember, but then we meet with her again Friday. and she read in the book of mormon, she went to the dictionary in the back to find out more, and she wants to know more about Joseph Smith so we left her to read his testimony. and she said nothing was going to stop her from coming to church. rain sleet hail. nothing. so sunday came and it was pouring. she got lost, but she still came. and she read more of the book of mormon. she is super prepared. we are meeting with her again tuesday.
so the big problem we had this week, everyone said they were coming to church, like a pretty good yes, im coming and no one came. well except for Nancy. and Ron and rodd came, but not their family. i guess people have their agency to decide. just come to church people. its good for you. so the filipino family is doing well. sometimes its hard teaching because of so many distractions. people going in and out of the room, getting started. we had planned to invite him to be baptized for a while but havent been able to. because of all of the distractions. but we are going to tonight.
so random note from a few weeks ago. in Vigo my companion had an ingrown toenail. and so we went to the doctors to get it removed. and it took like 3 hours to get it removed. early in the morning. well thats socialized health care.
there are 7 in the filipino family. merci came last week, but not this week. dougher also got transferred to madrid. i havent seem him yet though. there are two other elders in our piso. one from Argentina and one from pleasant grove. his parents are from Rio de Janeiro. but he doesnt speak portuguese. well seems strange the package is lost. itll show up some day. i did get the under armor. thank you. its super nice. i wear it lots. its getting cold here. and i also have both dogs. they are cute. i brought the pillow with me. so im still good with the pillow. kind of funny for us, tanya blew out devons candle. haha. Pres said hell look at my knee when i see him again. maybe Wednesday. its not to bad. i can walk on it fine. and it doesnt hurt. sounds like you are doing quite a bit with the house. im excited to see what happens. thats good the new medicine is good. it was always better when you felt good. its more fun. im excited to get to know grandpa carson, and grandma and grandpa peila, well and everyone some day. what a blessing this gospel is that was can be with everyone.
well i like the superbowl teams. dont really care who wins. strange thing, i saw the lakers playing Toronto on a tv walking through the streets.
dont know what the elders will be able to do. lots of member visits. try to get alot of references. lots of common situations, i believe i can worship god in my own way, like no need for religion. get that one a lot here. I've heard the general authorities reuse talks. which makes sense. with all of the talks they have to use. bro rios always talks about his mission a lot in mission prep as well.
abinidi is a good missionary example. lots of the prophets didnt fear what man could do to them. you look at them and they have life and death experiences, and they still fearlessly preach. and for the most part we are safe, and just have to preach. they are a good example. golf is always good in St. Geoge. there is a driving range nearby. we are going to go do that sometime.
