December 2, 2013

hello family

so this week has been good.  lots of street contacting.  but a cool miricle happened.  so my companion on the way up here on the train talked to someone for like half an hour.  but didnt get his number or anything.  and yesterday we were just walking and a guy says hey amigo.  so we talked to him and he gave us his number.  so super cool.  he actually stopped us in the street.  so jorge he hadnt come to church for a few weeks but we had a way good lesson on the importance of coming to church.  we went through some verses of d y c secion 59.  and his grandma helped out a ton.  and then he came to church again on sunday.  so devair he is from brazil we have meet with him a few times, so a few days ago we passed by his garage (he is a mechanic) and he said it would be better for you to come to my house where we can talk more calmly.  so we are passing by tonight and he has a family!!!!  i love teaching families.  havent taught to many but it is so cool teaching a whole family.  i always remember teaching that filipino family and it was so cool.  so im super excited to teach them.

so christmas decorations are all over town.  poinsettias, christmas trees, a big light tree, things all over the city.  its super cool.  gets me in the christmas spirit.  so sonia is a member and we went to eat at her house on sunday and we ate brazilian food.  and she was excited that i had already eaten fajuatata lots.  so her sons are both less actives.  both in their twenties.  so we want to do an activity with them sometime and some investigators.  maybe play soccer or basketball, or i don’t know.  then share a quite thought.  they are both maja.  so we want to try to get a friendship with them then get them back to church.

well not a whole lot went on this week.  so since sunday was fast sunday we had a ton of time on saturday night to do what ever.  so dougher and i set up a dart board and were throwing darts across the hallway.  and a cork board.  it was a good time.  oh and doughers bed frame is broken.  its like a taco.  guess thats what happens when you jump on the bed to many times.  haha.

my companion does like top gear.  we get along fine.  sounds like thanksgiving was a success.  cheesecake is always good.  as is bread pudding.  well the densleys are a bit more mellow than us so their view of wild is probably a bit different than ours.  well alex and blake are mild.  but bill and cheryl are.  thats good you have a christmas tree.  seems empty with out it.  im sure dad didnt want it but it was needed.  that nice you gave them ipads.  seems like everyone is getting them.  even missionaries.  so what ddid you do with your old one then?  thats good you somehow got the ipads at best buy.  seems like they would have been out early in the morning.  thats too bad grandma has the shingles.   did she just get them recently.  hopefully she is still enjoying herself.  thank you for the pillow.  its a lot better than a wadded up sheet.  but i was kind of used to the wadded up sheet.  it would be a lot cheaper to just buy a tree here.  maybe send some things to put on the tree though.  well we were going to make something but time ran out.  so we made her a card with big card stock paper and bought her a cake.  maybe next time we will make something.  so janet had to work the whole weekend so we didnt do anything with her.  we might do something some other time though.  we ate with sandra the recent convert for lunch.  we had brazilian food.  it was good.  the new hobbit comes out soon.  you should dress up and go midnight.  and the brazilians sure like how we went to brazil.  and how i know something about brazil.

one last thing.   on thursday we were having a rough day. we had nothing and nobody was listening. and i was praying that we could get at least one reference. and i was tired and cold but we continued.  and with like 5 minutes left some guy form peru stopped and talked with us. if we just work till the end and are diligent god will help us find people.
