hello family
so quite a few lessons failed on us this week. and i was just praying for help and what to do or what to learn from this. and i realized i was focusing more on the numbers, and not the people. and i dont want that. the work is so much more rewarding when you love the people. like it says is moses, we are his work and his glory. god loves us and we rejoices when we do whats right. he just cares about us. and thats how the missionary work needs to be. so we have a new investigator named V. she was in a car crash a few weeks ago. so the missionaries meet with her a few months ago, but then lost contact because of the car crash. her brother recently passed away so they gave her the plan of salvation pamphlet. and she read everything, the additional scriptures and all. but then she was in the hospital and we were never able to find her. so we meet with her and she has had a lot of things happen in her life. we went over the plan of salvation. and she was interested in where her brother and mom are. so we went over how she can be together with them forever. and she really believed it. and at the end of the lesson she asked if she had to go to madrid to be baptized. and we said no, you can do it here in Vigo. but she isnt really mobile right now and cant come to church. so we are praying for a quick recovery for her. she actually called us to make the appointment. comfirm the appointment, and give us directions. she has been looking for this gospel.
so i made a gingerbread house, but because of the humidity it has fallen apart. but it makes to room smell good so i have kept it. and the light in the bathroom has gone out and we have no hot water. so cold dark showers for now. we will fix the problem soon. today we went down to Guaria. right by portugal. i saw portugal! and saw some celtic ruins, and then visited the branch presidents family. so this week for sunday we went to primary, then young women. and we had a baptism in english. so lots of translating there as well. lots easier going english to spanish than spanish to english.
Fiji sounds pretty primitive from what is sounds like. guess it is just like the other side of heaven. food isnt too strange here. all is well. why was there noone at church? kind of like a funny sad. like no members or anybody? like when we went to St. George and there was nobody because it was a stake conference or something. so i will be calling christmas like 5 15 ish here time. it is too bad i cant talk to devon. will devon even call for mothers day or will he be back by then? noche buena is christmas eve. so someone invited us over for navidad she said. so i thought that meant christmas. but luckily the hermana from Argentina that lives in Spain said that means the 24. so i was like oh. so good thing she said something before we had a conflict. why cant you send any food? oh well. and i got the stuffed dog. gracias. its on my desk now. well feel better soon. just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. we do have some ornaments from the tree.
we actually dont have enough chairs in our chapel. it is quite small and they are building another one quite soon. but we dont sit on dirt floors. well looks like all of byu sports are down. good year to miss i guess. thats good with Shana. she has been working at bed and bath forever. doesnt seem to exciting of a job but o well. i think it is a sign for mom. she needs to start golfing. then maybe eventually tanya would as well. i guess you could have burned the Utah sandles but they never touched the car so that is good. maybe tiger played the course some time. that'd be cool. i guess he plays Torrey Pines often though. that is good packages never get lost. that definitely is a benefit. well im sure its just for the holidays that people didnt show up. with family over, or visiting family or something. once school and everything starts again im sure itll be busy.
ill try to remember to bring my camera next week. well have a splendid week. love you
well thats about it for the week. have a good week everyone and talk to you soon!!!!!!
love elder Jason kinghorn
feliz navidad.
