hello family.
so some exciting news. remember merci and her family. way back in October or September. the filipino family. so she and two of her kids are getting baptized tomorrow!!!!! the dad no because he works on sunday. but he will some day. and she said i want kinghorn and cousins there at my baptism. i dont think we can go but im so excited for them. i remember when we found them. so cool.
L. is now in ether. She is amazing. so cruising along. and she said when she finishes it, she is going to start reading again. so we were over there yesterday and she was showing us all of her family pictures, and everything. i feel just like family there. and some good news, she thinks when she has had her job for three months, (which is middle of April) she will be able to change her schedule. that would be super exciting. i can even imagine the spirit in the room when she is baptized. it would just be amazing. and i love her husband.
some cool stuff, we found a family from the Philippines the other day. we were contacting in the street all day, and some of the people we found were a family. JR and their little daughter (which ended up being their granddaughter) so we went over there the other day. Taught in a mix of spanish and english. because there was a grandma, aunt, niece, daughter, and one or two spoke spanish better. some english. and obviously we dont speak tagalog. the grandma has a lot of questions. some random ones as well. like right after we talked about the first vision, she asks why are there so many different languages in the world. but some on topic as well. kind of funny, we were talking about christ, and how he established his church, and there were like who is Joseph smith, and were like we will get there, then talking about the apostasy, and there like what is the difference between the catholic church and your church, and we’re like just about there. but it was a good lesson. kind of funny at the end we were taking orders for book of mormons in the different languages. spanish, english or tagalog. so they said they would come to english class and church. so saturday come and english class, and we called and no answer. and were liked dang it. and then Sunday, still no answer, and were like dang-it (and daylight savings change was yesterday in Spain) so then at 11 (church starts at 10) they walk it. the mom dad and grandma. and the grandma walks in with a big fur hat and says good morning in the cutest accent. they are pretty cool.
so then one more person, mara we have been meeting with her. and she hasn't read too much or come to church. but she says she will. and church comes, and no show. but then at 12 the last hour she shows up. she really does want to progress. she just doesnt feel the best sometimes, but she wants to know.
so one more thing, so the ward asked us to give the sunday school lesson, the six missionaries, because it was the fifth sunday so that means combined. so we did it on how to share the gospel and it turned out really well. we were going to do a practice with them but we ran out of time. but we passed around a sheet to write your number and a date to have invited a friend to a family home evening, or lunch with missionaries or come to church, and we got some appointments, and some references. it turned our really well. the members just need a bit of a push, we talked a lot about how we can only go to the celestial kingdom and obtain exaltation if we preach the gospel, and if you want to see your friends there in the celestial kingdom with you, you have to share it with them, because if there not baptized they cant enter. but im really excited to see what comes from this.
well so we actually finally went golfing last week, after some delays and what not. so that was good. just to a range. my comp wants to play nine holes sometime, so hopefully soon. well thats about it. have a wonderful week.
you are getting devon a phone. he is starting his last transfer today. wow. doesnt seem to long i missed the ap stats test and we dropped him off at the mtc. and i remember that drive home, just you me and dad. haha.
well its been hard to meet with MJ and J because they are redoing their family room, so everything is a mess. but we will meet with them Tuesday i think. and they have one daughter, she is nine and is baptized. my companion and i both stayed. so we were really excited. kind of cool the different types of jobs there are in different parts of the world. he basically has his own outdoor aquarium. well quite the long commute to home. but much better than the 1800 were it would have been months. kind of cool you can be just about anywhere in the world in less than 24 hours. I've never seen Duck dynasty. Maybe I’ll have to watch it one day. Well have a good week. love you
love elder kinghorn
