this week has been really good. so saturday was J's baptism and it was super cool. so three people were baptized, all the companionships had one. one from brazil, and the other from angola. so we actually had to build the font because the chapel doesnt have one. so we did that. and the baptism was super cool. the branch president baptized J. and you could just feel the spirit so strong during the baptism. and i though how grateful i am that mom and dad raised me in the gospel, and that dad could baptize me. then S from brazil brought a ton of food, a ton of pastries they were all really good. then we had to drain the font, and it would have taken forever so we took buckets and started emptying it into the sinks. so yesterday we a good day as well. so we were looking for a persons piso, so we had a map out, and we were talking in english, then an english girl asked us if we needed any help. so she helped us, they we talked about how we are missionaries, and she seemed interested. her name is rebecca and we are going to meet with her today. also yesterday we were just contacting and my companion said talk to that lady, so when i said hola, she was almost behind me, but she stopped. she is from poland, and we talked to her for like ten minutes. and we got her number and will teach her later in the week. so Sa invited us over for lunch today. Sonia cut our hair (she is a member and also form brazil) we ate with sonia yesterday and she is a really nice lady, then sandra feed us after the hair cut. she called the missionary up and said i want to be baptized. then she was baptized a week later. so we ate with the district pres, and he knows doctor elder swenson who came here to vigo and talked with a few doctors here. and he also talked about the gospel. so he gave pres bomio three book of mormons that he wrote in, then pres bomio gave them to us to give to the doctors. so that has been cool. we have only found one so far, but he seemed interested and that would be super cool to start teaching him. well real madrid and barcalona played and the streets were deserted. there were a million people in the bars watching the game. and sadly real madrid fought valiantly but they lost 2 to 1. and we had a halloween dinner at a filipinos house named janet. it was fun. and noche de hogar we did a dounut eating contest, like tie it on a string and eat it. maybe maysa will send you a video.
the other elders have met with Maria, and our Maria was busy all of last week. so we will call her soon. you should make more spanish food. it is really good. the ward missionary leader seems really good. he used to be the stake president dude here. and the ward council is also really good. they let the missionaries talk a lot, so we always talk about what we want brought up in consejo. the ward wants to work with the missionaries a lot. my companion does like golfing as well. so that is good. newspaper might be better for rice only because i still have some rice in my shoes. so im walking and i feel some rice. but it worked really well. that is not too many testimonies. and with no rest hymn either. testimonies should be short, and not story time. oh well. thats really good uncle david is doing better. good thing aunt joy investigated it. where did uncle david serve then? in californnia? i didnt know that they met on his mission. hopefully the chairs come. they are a necessity by this point.
Sounds like the excitement of the girls is going down. Well it's still just an option for girls to go. it's not a priesthood responsibility. So i really don’t see a problem with the girls not going. But if they want to go on a mission they need to get going. No one is ever prepared enough to go on a mission. But i found a sweet verse in luke about mary. it's luke 11 23 i think. it says a women says blessed is the womb that carried thee. And jesus says no it's what you do that's important.
seems like we have been getting less and less every year. guess the ward is just getting older. no one is moving out so everyone just gets older. that good you beat paul. need to shot lower than 81 if you want to make the senior tour. haha that sure is a quick pick up for the new ipad. by the time i get back my iphone will be obsolete. the phone we use here are ancient. basically just call and text and thats about it. but i guess some missionaries have ipads already. it rains everyday. but its not to cold yet. sounds like mission prep is going along well. well have a wonderful week.
love elder jason kinghorn
