May 13, 2013

Hello Everybody.

We had Family Home Evening in the ward and it was about mothers.  So I brought up how when Jesus was on the cross, one of the last things he said was for John to take care of his mother.  Mothers are very important.  I have learned a lot from you mom and I appreciate you lots.  Heavenly Father put us in the family we are in for a reason and I love all of you.

It was nice talking to you.  I love you lots and I can feel your love here.  I don't really know if I'm sunburned.  I shall look in the mirror next time I’m there.

Well I found out I had a talk in Sacrament Meeting right as it was starting.  Apparently they told me last week but I didn’t quite understand, or maybe I just forgot.  But they just said just share something and introduce yourself.  So I shared how when Gabriel the angel appeared to Zachariah and told him he was going to have a baby, the prophet John the Baptist, even though he and his wife thought they couldn’t have babies, he didn’t really believe the angel, so he was struck dumb until John was born, but when the angel told the shepherds that Jesus was going to be born they had enough faith to go and witness his birth.  We don’t need to be the prophet to believe in the gospel.  Everyone can have enough faith.

I did an intercambie to Villalba the other day.  It is a lot less hectic there, and their shower stays warm, and it drains.  And I didn’t find a spider there.

Thats good Bruno still is getting food.  It is probably a bit necessary for him.  Before you know it I will be back home.  Each week is about one percent.

Siegfrieds is good.  There are a ton of pastellerias here.  I always stare through the window, as I’m sure you would as well.

I'm not sure what we are doing for p day.  There was the plan to go to the zoo, but I think that is for next week.  So I don’t know.

The people are friendly, much more touchy than America.  America is a lot more like Northern Europe I think.

The food is good.  Some lady made us chimichangas, homemade, like the crust and everything.  They we good.

It is a lot different than the MTC.  The MTC is a lot more social and you have a lot more support.

Well, Tanya has nothing to do either so you can just be with her.  You could always golf in Las Vegas.  Thats what I’d do.

Waca waca is a fun song.  It’s for the world cup, so soccer.  That topic comes up a lot talking with people.  It’s like the only sport here, then a tiny bit basketball and volleyball.

Well when we were walking back to the piso some people though we were Jehovah Witnesses, so one missionary turned around and said we are Mormons.  They were really drunk.  it was kind of strange.

No more huge blocks of cheese.  But this week has been good.  We taught lessons.  Well nothing to exciting though.  L, the spaniard, just needs more faith in the Book of Mormon.  We had him watch the restoration video.  Hopefully that helped.  He thinks a lot and reasons a lot.

I love you lots.  I have learned a lot about family while here.  I didn’t know how much I loved you guys until I was separated from you.  Well I have to go but I love you.

Well thats about all.
I love you.

Elder Kinghorn's First Area

May 6, 2013

Hello everybody.

Well my companion is from Peru and doesn’t really speak any EnglIsh.  So I am lost lots of the day.  I just follow and go along with it.  English is a good language.  I can understand it.  I can still communicate with people.  I thought more people here would speak English, but i guess its mainly northern Europe.

Well my metro stop is called cuarto caminos.  My address is :

Bravo Murillo 127 2D
28020 Madrid Spain

I guess look it up on google maps.  The Royal Palace is in my area, and Plaza del Sol and Mayor.  It is a cool area, very crowded.  Bro. L. is super cool (MTC teacher.)  He is kind of in the same ward as me now.  He goes to the same building, but works with my ward a lot.

The ward is a lot of South Americans.  We teach mainly South American and a Spaniard and a Philipino.  The Spaniard is way cool.  He thinks a lot.  Yesterday he gave us a huge block of cheese.  I’m not sure how we will eat it all, but we will try.  Lots of people cancel, but we still teach like 2 or 3 lessons a day.  The schedule here is 7:30 to 11:30.  There are two other missionaries in out apartment.  One is from Oklahoma so he speaks English, so that is nice.  The rule here is that you can go to either one soccer match or a bull fight.  i thinking a soccer match, although a bull fight would be pretty cool as well.

The weather is nice here.  It was kind of cold the first few days of last week, but now it’s warm.  I have no clue the temperature though. I am reading Jesus the Christ.  It is a good book.

Anyhow the ward mission leader is from Colombia I think.  There are a lot of Americans also in the ward, so that is nice. I committed someone to be baptized.

St. George is always nice.  We will go when I get back though. It’s an exciting time in Tanya’s life though.  But she is still right by you.  It’s not like you are never going to see her again.  I have decided I don’t want to move to Florida (I was always kidding).  Utah is a very nice place to live, and it’s where family is and that is what is most important.  Bruno is a funny dog.  I miss running with him and playing fetch.  When I hear a dog bark I hope it will be Bruno, but it never is.

We did nothing for Cinco de Mayo.  I didn’t even think about it actually. That is a long time ago.  But we will all be able to see him again which is exciting, because I never really knew him.  But I want to. I also know he is helping with missionary work here and is helping me and Devon.  Just by bringing up a righteous family you do a lot of good to the world, which is exactly what you and Dad have done. I guess the car adventures did not die when Michael left.  He must have been excited.  When will he put his papers in?  Pretty soon I suppose.  That’s funny that he took McKenna.  I guess he is going on a mission so nothing will happen.  That’s strange school is over soon.  Thats way cool about dogs.  They are so cool.  I will definitely get one no matter what my wife says.  Rachel is becoming a true cougar now. Now just football is next.

Well I love you.

April 29, 2013 Leaving the MTC

Well, I only have like 5 minutes today.  I do not know where my first area is yet.  We find out tomorrow so hopefully they will let us know.  We are just packing and everything now.  If we go to the Canary Islands we only take one suitcase so that would be fun.

Graduation sounds exciting. Actually not really, but I'm sure it was nice.

President jackson seems way cool.  He gave a fireside last night and it was way good.  So the park was good last week.  We talked to a homeless guy from Cuba for a while, he accepted a Book of Mormon.  Then one of our teachers came with us and he is pretty pro at contacting.

Well I dont have much more time so I think I get to email again Wednesday, but I am not sure.

Have a lovely week.

I love you
